BWC proudly presents our Christmas High Tea Party, sponsored by the Novar Group – An event for our members and their guests.

This year’s event will include a French Champagne High Tea at the exquisite Emporium Hotel South Bank, followed by a huge Christmas raffle and the announcement of the 2022 BWC Grant Recipient.

We would love for you to join us as we look back at the year that was for BWC and step into the festive season.

 

Date & Time

Saturday 12 November 2022

Arrival and registration – From 12noon in the Frangipani Suite

Pre-Function Activities – 12.15pm – 12.50pm in the Frangipani Suite will include; networking, raffle ticket purchase, donations table, photobooth fun and pop-up bar for drinks to be purchased.

Official Proceedings – Move into the Frangipani Ballroom from 12.50pm for a 1pm start of the function and drinks package.

Event close – The function officially concludes at 3pm but a pop-up bar will be available until 4pm.

We will be collecting items to form hampers to be gifted to some of the amazing carers associated with The Carer’s Foundation Australia.

We would like to ask attendees to please bring along and donate something special for a table hamper that will be created on the day, eg nice toiletries, light reading book, special chocolates, something that would make you feel special if you were to receive it as a gift!

 

Grant Recipient Announcement

We will be announcing the winner of our 2022 Brisbane Women’s Club $10,000 grant to a local charity that supports women and which is aligned with our constitutional objectives.

Our key-note speaker will be a representative of the grant recipient.

Cancellation Policy – In the event of event cancellation due to government-ordered COVID conditions/ lockdown prior to 18 November, all tickets will be refunded in full minus a $2 admin fee/processing fee. In all other circumstances (and after 19 November), tickets are transferable but not refundable.

Join us for a relaxed Fireside Chat with the highly accomplished Financial Adviser, Speaker and Author Extraordinaire Helen Baker as she details her career journey …. along with the tips and tricks she has learnt along the way. There’ll be plenty of time for a Q&A discussion too – this event is all about audience interaction!!

Helen is a practising and licensed financial adviser and founder of “On Your Own Two Feet” – an Australia-wide service dedicated to empowering women to gain and retain their financial freedom.

Helen has two Master Degrees as well as a Bachelor of Commerce, she has won several National Awards and she is regularly sort after by National Radio, Newspapers and On-line.

Let’s Celebrate Saturday Soirée

BWC proudly presents Saturday Soirée, an event for its members and non-members alike. 

Join us on Saturday 28 August 2021 from 2pm to 4pm at The Marquee @ Bulimba Golf Club, 105 Quay St, Bulimba 4171. It’ll be a great atmosphere as we enjoy canapés, drinks, lucky door prizes, raffles and a few surprises!

We ask you to please bring along a pantry item to donate to a food hamper for our previous BWC charitable grant recipient 4 Voices.

Nia is passionate about helping people find their true fit – whether that is exploring career options, transitioning into a new role or re-entering the workforce. Nia will provide some great tips on work life integration so you can be confident in yourself at home or at work and for yourself.

  • Access to the Brisbane Club is from the park level of Post Office Square, overlooking Adelaide Street.

  • There is paid parking underground with Secure Parking (enter from Adelaide Street turning from Edward Street or Creek Street). Book in advance for a discount.

CHARITY SUPPORT

We are supporting Brisbane Youth Service as part of this year’s Christmas Meet and Mingle celebration.

We ask if attending to bring along a gift/s to donate to BYS (and we’ll supply the wrapping paper!) for Christmas hampers – for young women and young families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

Gifts for the hamper should be personal pampering and personal hygiene focused (including any new and certified electrical goods).

Ride Like a Girl! Movie Fundraising Night

Join BWC for a fundraising movie night, with the exclusive screening of Ride Like a Girl. In support of charity, A Brave Life.

RIDE LIKE A GIRL is the inspiring true story of Michelle Payne’s journey through the glass ceiling all the way to winning the Melbourne Cup. Rachel Griffiths directional debut showcases the struggle and determination of one girl’s dream through all her adversity. Staring Terese Palmer and Sam Neil.

There will be a small presentation prior to movie start, from BWC and charity A Brave Life. We encourage you to make a donation on the night to  A Brave Life.

 

About A Brave Life

A Brave Life provides a person-centred, positive approach with achievable outcomes to meet the practical needs of young mother’s from a physical, emotional and educational perspective.

A Brave Life focuses on two areas:

  1. Walking alongside young mothers, whilst encouraging them to finish their education, pursue their dreams & to be a positive role model for their child.
  2. Providing essential baby items to young mothers through our baby bundle program.

This incredible not-for-profit organisation was also the 2019 recipient of the 2019 BWC Charitable Grant.
