Queensland Week Sponsorship goes to....the BWC!
This year, the Brisbane Women's Club was selected from a pool of 350+ applicants to host a range of special events for Queensland Week 2011, held from Saturday 4 to Monday 13 June.
The Brisbane Women’s Club is calling for volunteers to help throughout these amazing events and celebrations.
Queensland Week is a special time for all Queenslanders to celebrate what's great about our state.
Each year, a range of diverse activities are held throughout the state celebrating Queensland's people, places and achievements.
The BWC will host the "Past, Present and Future of Queensland" from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 June 2011. This five day program will include a series of Queensland themed lectures, local produce markets, fashion parades showcasing emerging designers and cooking classes that will intertwine the themes of past, present and future of the Sunshine State.
The celebrations support a diverse field of emerging and established Queensland talent, identities, businesses and produce while also paying tribute to Queensland’s assorted and colourful history.
We’ll be forming a member sub-committee which will be integral to the planning, organisation and running of the events. This is a great opportunity for members to get involved with such a respected and renowned Queensland initiative, so please contact Kirsten at the Club to lend your support and volunteer for a range of positions we have available!
Past, Present and Future of Queensland is part of the Queensland Government’s Queensland Week celebrations 4–13 June 2011.
